Laura L. Brown
At age 17, Laura had a profound experience while touring Europe with a US national honor band and choir. During a performance in Germany, where US and Russian armed forces were on the front lines of a potential global war, Laura realized the importance of peace on Earth and how peace needed to be lived first within each individual. From there, Laura graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and became a professional journalist, working at newspapers in Germany, Washington, DC, and Pulitzer Prize-winning Newsday on Long Island, NY.
After getting a Master's Degree at Boston University specializing in International Communications, she transitioned into management consulting in Boston, MA. She has a broad background in management consulting, including integrated strategic, organizational development, and capitalization projects; building high-performance executive teams; high-performance sales and marketing on a global scale; and the design and delivery of strategic communication systems for some of the world’s largest and most successful corporations. Her client work has included large-scale and other projects with Genentech, Fidelity Investments Tax-Exempt Services, Boston Scientific, Chiron Diagnostics, John Hancock, Eli Lilly, Structured Dynamics Research Corp., Tupperware, Citizens Utilities, Jet Propulsion Laboratories, ZYCOS, and Castel.
Laura was an adjunct professor at Boston University's College of Communication. She completed executive training in negotiation at the world-renowned Program on Negotiation at Harvard University.
She then synthesized all her experiences and founded GEI Global Leaders, a visionary model for whole-system business. She has led a movement of 500,000+ people in 50+ countries across 6 continents. She is the author of Cristina and the Riddle of the Three Bridges, a new mythological story for our times. She is the co-author of Presence: Bite-sized wisdom for Global Leaders; Presence Health: Bite-sized wisdom for Global Leaders in healthcare; and Presence Women: Bite-sized wisdom for women Global Leaders with New York Times and International bestselling author Janet Switzer. Janet is co-author of The Success Principles series translated into 41 languages with Jack Canfield, co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series and a leading expert on creating success and personal fulfillment.
Laura's writing has been featured in a diverse array of publications worldwide, from Kosmos Journal to Management Communication Quarterly.
Laura serves as a member of the Peace Alliance National Department of Peacebuilding Committee, advocating in Congress for a historic, Cabinet-level US Department of Peacebuilding. The Peace Alliance was co-founded by Marianne Williamson. Laura has contributed to improved drafts of the peacebuilding legislation, communications strategies, and working with members of Congress and the UN, as well as former US presidential candidates. She also is a member of the World Intellectuals' Wisdom Forum, based in La Creuse, France, a worldwide network of peace and global responsibility thinkers, philosophers, sages, cosmic activists, scientists, ecologists, planetary transformation experts, and planetary healers. The forum was founded in India in 2017 and now includes active members in 20+ countries who gather to think the world anew.
Laura has worked directly with founders of humanitarian and philanthropic non-profits dedicated to building peaceful, vibrant communities in the American South; whole-system education for children worldwide; and inner and outer peace across planet Earth.
